Senior Risk Manager

About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Risk Manager to join our clients team. As a Senior Risk Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks that could impact the company's operations and financial performance. You will work closely with the senior management team to develop and implement risk management strategies and policies that align with the company's objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk management policies and procedures
- Develop and implement risk management plans and procedures
- Keep abreast of industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure the company's risk management practices are up to date
- Collaborate with different departments to identify potential risks and develop risk management solutions
- Provide guidance and support to the management team on risk-related matters
- Prepare and present risk management reports to senior management and the board of directors
- Conduct training sessions for employees to increase awareness of risk management practices
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulators, auditors, and insurers
- Lead investigations into any risk-related incidents and provide recommendations for improvement
- Stay updated on emerging risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Actuarial qualification and experience is required
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, preferably in a consulting or financial services environment
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles, techniques, and tools
- Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies and policies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficient in risk management software and tools
- Certification in risk management (e.g. CRM, CERA) is preferred.
